November!!

Wow, another month has passed. Kaden will be 5 months in a couple days. Hard to believe that a year ago we just saw him on the ultrasound screen for the first time! He is soo big and strong now. We had a busy month. Visited with Miss Meka and family in North Carolina... Got lots of pictures taken with Miss Katherine at Sears, Had lots of Fall Fun and Halloween fun with Miss Becky.. and just spent alot of time playing, growing, eating and sleeping. Kaden started eating off of a spoon... nummy rice and oatmeal cereal. We are holding off on real food until Daddy gets home. And on that front... Daddy is less than 3 months from coming home!!!!!!!! we cant wait. Luckily we have a very busy next couple months... so time will fly by for all of us. This month we have Turkey day with Uncle Jim and Cousin Vicki.. and our little cousins!! :) Then We leave for Illinos on Dec 16th for Christmas and New years! We have 6 months pics, christmas parties and lots of other fun things planned.. Dec 11th Kaden gets to meet Santa!!! So we got big plans!

Well Kaden is up from his nap, so i am gonna add some pictures quick and get back to monkey fun!

2 months already gone!

Well, Today Kaden had his 4 month well baby. He is getting so big and strong. He is very well on his way to more advanced development.. we have to work on a few things but he is already advanced for those things anyway. He weighed 14 lbs 6 oz.. and was 25 1/4 inches long. He is getting soo freaking big!! I cant believe he is double his weight already.. and he is so tall. Already gained 5 inches since birth.. I hope he will be tall like his uncle and grandpa.

Bill has been gone for 2 months now. It seems as though the time has flown by slow and fast at the same time. We make it through each day and chat every day on the internet. We need more skpye time, but thats okay I will take what I can get. Bill started working on college stuff over there and is heading up the CFC campaign in his shop. So he's doing some good with his time away.

We had a great trip to IL to see family and friends. We were so grateful to be out of this house for a little bit though we worried about our furries at home. Our friend Becky took good care of them! They were all alive and happy when we got home! While in IL we got to go to a few ball games, Visited with friends, Had a family get together and really had a good time. We miss all the family so much already! it sucks being home alone, but we cant be away all the time!

Looking forward to this month of fun things. We are going to North Carolina to see Meka, Visiting with Candice who is visiting, going to a fall festival, the zoo (maybe) and well hanging out with people in general. Kaden and I have started walking every night with miss Becky. We are loving the fresh air and we both sleep well with it.

Well i know this is a short and sweet update, but bed is calling tonight. We have visitors coming down tomorrow, so we want to be bright eyed and bushy tailed!!

Another month has passed!

Well we have had a very busy July. Auntie Kristen and Erik visited with Miss Kateybug. Little man got christened... and daddy left Aug 2nd. It has been a very tough couple weeks since he left.. he has actually been gone 11 days and its been horrible. But its getting better every day. First on Wednesday day 3 of daddy being gone, Kaden spiked a temp of 102.2 so after it wouldnt go down on its own, i took him to the UCC. And he got an IV put in his arm... 2 catheters and a bag on his winkie, tons of blood work and a bruised ego! :( After 6 hours they gave him a antibiotic and had released him to wait for the results. Well it came back as a UTI. He is on more antibiotics until they do a Kidney scan and a VCUG test on him.. then another catheter to clear him of this bug. He should be GTG right now but they are not taking any chances. Well after we got home that night I thought i was just exhausted.. well i ended up with what i thought was the flu. I had temp of 102 myself and was misurable and nothing helped!! Linda came over after Kadens follow up on Thursday and took care of Kaden so i could just medicate and rest. Well that ended up going into the over night.. thank you Linda! next day i was tired and still weak but glad to be up and moving. Still had a low grade temp but was ok. Saturday was okay.. sunday i started getting a killer headache. Well Monday night still no relief after anything i did. So to Mary Immaculate hospital i went. Glad i went there too, cuz even though i bitched the whole time, they did give me good care. Otherwise, after 4 or so hours, they asked if i had someone who could give me a ride home so they could give me good stuff. I called Lynn.. thanks again!! then after they got the headache somewhat under control and after a cat scan and lots of blood work reviled pretty much nothing, they asked if i would concent to a spinal tap to check for Meningitis. Yep, the doc guilted me cuz of the welfare of my son! thanks!! well, Linda and Kaden got kicked out and they did the procedure and i was confined to bed. well after an hour it came back as Viral Meningitis... and well that ment a few things. They HAD to admit me by law, and i couldnt see Kaden until this cleared up. Talk about heart wrenching. The Er folks told me i'd be in 12 hours.. so i decided to have Kaden stay with Linda for the night until i was released later that day. The doc comes in a couple hours later and tells me i will be there 48-72 hours until this culture for bacterial meningitis comes back negative. Oh heck no!! i didnt take that laying down. Though i knew my son was in great hands, i wanted him in MINE! So Linda and Ron gratiously took on taking care of their Godson during this time.. what the hell would I do without them??? and i was on quarentine still.. at the hospital. IT sucked!! Linda stopped by to give me my clothes and stuff for the next few days. and well they wouldnt even let me peek out my room to see my boy. they offered to have him watched so linda could come in.. and i didnt want him left with anyone else!! so the nurse had to deal with my screaming at her. Not her fault but the whole situation sucked! Well, i saw the infectious disease specialist on Tuesday.. they said it was still negative but had to give it more time. The doc came in on Wednesday morn.. still negative.. been 24 hours with no pain drugs.. i hadnt had a fever the entire time.. so they said if it was still neg this afternoon.. and the ID specialist cleared me.. i would be released that day. Well the ID specialist came in at 4:45.. my nurse called me at 4:50 and i told her I wanted to see my doc asap.. cuz i wasn't about to have to stay the night again cuz he punched out for the day! Well i got him.. and i was out in the hour! Enjoyed my last meal.. which was prolly the high point of the whole thing was the food.. it was pretty good and available all day.. not overnight.. but it wasnt bad. Well thats my last 11 days since my hubby left.. and it was a bad 11 days.. OH YEAH!! Kaden had his 2 month appt today! 11 lbs 4 oz, 23.5 inches long.. doing very good.. got his shots.. NOT HAPPY! but will be just fine!! :) What a milestone. Looking forward to easier times coming forward.. cuz i really really dont want to have this keep up for the rest of Bill's deployment!!

Well it was 3 weeks ago that I posted last! And what a great 3 weeks it has been. We went into the hospital on the morning of June 10th awaiting the arrival of our sweet little boy. Got there and checked in about 7 am.. and by 730 i was hooked up to iv's and got the party started. I was still 5 cm when i got checked that morning... and we thought it would be a quick day. After the exam and not being able to feel a head or a butt.. yes.. we had questions.. the doc came in and did an ultrasound.. thank goodness little kaden was head down! That was scary.. didnt want a c-section! Well they started the antibiotics (since i was group b strep positive) and pitocin. we just hung out waiting it out. Contractions started.. they weren't that bad. About 103o the nurses asked how i was doing.. and i was okay.. but the anestesiologist was on the floor and it was a perfect opportunity for my epidural. I wasn't sure i was gonna have one.. but I knew that once my water broke we would be in for the pain! So i decided to go for it. Well it was not a fun experience to get.. i still feel that.. eeeww. but it worked.. NO PAIN.. worked too well.. I didnt like that i had no ability to move at all. So next time.. we'll be talking about how much relief to give! Otherwise.. doc came back in finally at 1:55 pm to break my water. We had expected her about noon. I still hadnt dialated any more since the AM on maxed out pitocin. So that kinda sucked.. but it was easy to break the water.. matter of fact it happened during the exam. I had TONS of fluid.. way too much actually.. which i think stunted his growth a bit.. but we'll get to that later. She got all the fluid out.. and down Kaden came.. fast and furious. Well, about 20 minutes after they broke my water we had a scary hour. Kadens heart rate dropped way too much with each contraction and it had me terrified. I knew i was in the right place if something went wrong but it still scared me. We had to turn me side to side every 5 minutes or so... i was on oxygen.. and still it didnt improve too much. At 3:20 the doc came in to tell me that she wanted to put internal monitors in to monitor everything more closely.. she examined me at 3:29 and well.. i was completely dialated and ready to go!! .. yes.. that was 1 1/2 hours after they broke my water! Thank god it was broken in a controlled environment.. cuz otherwise we would have been pressed for time. Well needless to say we didnt have to use the internal monitors and we got in position for pushing. I started pushing and he slowly was coming down. Finally about 20 minutes in.. the doc started getting concerned about his hr.. since we couldnt monitor everything as well. And we were only at a +2 station or so. Well.. she offered assistance.. i said the vacuum. She said.. you get 3 pushes.. then we go to the OR. They called the OR to get them prepared.. and the next contraction came. Well IDK what happened.. but 2 pushes out came Kaden's head.. next push.. his body.. and we were DONE! Born at 3:59 pm . this was without the vacuum btw. Obviously you can't treaten an ANDREWS! :) I still say Kaden kicked himself out.. i didnt feel any different when i pushed.. but still out he came. WOW.. the next few minutes were awesome. First they cleaned his airway.. he cried just a little bit then up on my belly he came. OMG.. he was sooo gorgeous! perfect in every way.. wasn't ewwy and geewwy.. and had great coloring and no cone head! :) then they took him to clean him up a bit before giving him back to me. it seemed like forever! Then i got my boy for about an hour.. he fed right away and did awesome. and we just hung out and i looked him over head to toe! Then off to the nursery with daddy for all the good stuff. Thats when he got weighed and measured.. and his first bath. He weighed 7 lbs, 2 oz.. and 20 inches long. He was supposed to be his big baby.. so thats where i think the additional fluid gained in the last month stunted his growth.. but he was still a very healthy size! :) We finally got me cleaned up and moved to my room.. which trust me was a chore since i still had no feeling in one of my legs. And it seemed to be forever before Kaden joined Bill, Lynn, Ron and I in our room. But once he did we felt awesome and complete! He slept so good that first night.. too good.. wouldnt wake up to eat!! I didnt sleep.. i just looked at him all night... kept geting up to get feeling back in my lower body.. once the feeling came is sucked. between the numbness and swelling... i also had a hyperextended hip from labor. Well, that hurt more than the massive amount of stitches even! Yes, i tore nicely during this too! 2nd degree.. he came fast and there was no preparing for that!! Well we spent the next 36 hours or so in the hospital getting to know our little boy.. feeding him.. changing him.. loving on him.. but NO rest for mama.. i couldnt sleep as usual. We were released on the 12th at 3pm.. and it was awesome to come home. We did well the first few nights.. though i was still very sleep deprived. Now we are 3 weeks later.. almost. Kaden had grown so much already.. up about 12 oz to a lb.. he was up 7 oz last week at his 2 week well baby. already grew 1/2 inch too. He eats like a champ.. and though i worry alot of my production.. he seems to be thriving. He is finally on the breast 50% of the time.. which is great compared to when we got released i was just pumping. He smiles now.. is so alert.. and he melts our hearts every day.

Bill and I are completely in love with him.. and even more in love with eachother. This has been an awesome experience. Now we have so much to look forward to this month. Cousin Vicki is planning a visit.. Aunt Kristen is coming at the end of July... and Then Daddy leaves August 2nd. That will be hard.. Kaden and I will miss him so much. Thanks to technology we will have an easier time with it.. but Daddy loves giving Kaden kisses and he will miss that the most i think!!

Well thats the update. Little man is sleeping now.. so i should be too.. but i rather blog first.

15 hours to go!

Wow, 39 weeks ago... i had this thought.. why don't we try to get pregnant this month. 37 weeks ago.. Bill and I made magic happen... 35 weeks ago, we found out that Kaden was coming into our lives. In 15 hours this mommy will be going to the hospital to have her little man! I just can't believe after all this time.. after all these months of wanting and feeling him. .. that he will be here .. prolly in less than 1 day!! 20 years ago, when I met Bill, i knew he was the one for me... i was so happy when I married this man.. and the day i found out.. that after 15 years of trying and trying.. that I would be having a baby... it was the best day of my life.. up till now!! Kaden.. we love you so much.. we can not wait to meet you!! You have so many people that love you and are anxiously awaiting your arrival. Some people you'll never meet in person.. but they have become great friends.. some people you will meet hours old. I can not wait... i hope i can sleep tonight.. but if not, i am sure your daddy and I will be up all night talking about you. How we can't wait to hear that first cry.. to look in your eyes.. give you lots and lots of kisses! We wonder who you will look like.. not like it matters because you will be the most beautiful baby in the world.
Well I have cried rivers today.. in pure happiness of the journey ending in one way.. and a new journey beginning in another. We love you Kaden.. can't wait to meet you!!

another couple weeks down!

Well, we are now 10 days away from estimated due date.. wow.. i can't believe he is still in there! We went to the 36 week appt with Dr. Hurt. She measured me a 3 almost 4 and 90% effaced. Then later on we went to L&D cuz i had tons of contractions again!! They kept us over night because of Kadens Heartrate.. it was questionable. But it was fine overall.. i think it was a faulty monitor. Otherwise, that was my first non productive night at L&D where i got kept and still had no baby :(. Dr. Woessner measured me that morning at a 3 (mind you,, he's a man.. and a 4 keeps me in the hospital!). He said had i been further and 36 weeks, he'd help me along. But.. i was just 36 weeks and its not right at that point without invasive testing. We got released and I came home sore and tired from NO sleep the whole night. I had another appt the following Monday with Woessner, and he measured me an almost 4.. so progress.. didnt discuss effacement. He just said we needed to have the contractions to get us in the hospital and I will have a baby!! LOL Well i guess that scared Kaden.. because I will get the contractions long enough to get me to want to go to the hospital.. and then boom.. they will stop or slow. I am throughoughly exhausted at this point. My abs hurt non stop!! My other places don't feel all that good either. Bill and I have waged war on him by having me do tons of natural methods to get him out. Non of which work. Will have to remember this for the next one! Now tomorrow my my next appt.. 11 days after the last one. So goodness gratious.. i gotta have some mega progress. All day today i am kinda crampy, had some not so fun stools.. and tons of pressure!! Could that be a sign.. IDK? contractions still aren't as regular as they should be.. nor as strong. But i have a good feeling that this time, something is gonna happen. If i make it till tomorrow.. (i am sure i will, now that i have said that!!!) Then I will ask Dr. Hurt to strip my membranes to get things going.. that is, if she doesnt offer a one way trip right to Riverside!! I can't see how someone can be this dialated.. this effaced.. this long... and NOTHING HAPPENS!!! Kaden is certainly stubborn as all heck!! :) just like his daddy.. lol

I just can't go overdue.. at this point thats my only worry. I dont want to take away any more of this precious time away from Bill to spend with his son. He talks about Kaden every day and how much he wants him here.. how much he wants to see that little face.. and love on him and give tons of kisses and just LOOK at him. Its so sweet! I know Bill is gonna be an awesome daddy, he shows it every day.. and i hate the fact that he has to leave for the desert so soon after Kaden is born. It just sucks. I know we made this decision together.. and really it still is the right one for us. But its gonna be so hard seeing him say goodbye to his son. I know I can handle it.. but seeing him say goodbye and being upset to say goodbye not only to me but Kaden.. its gonna kill me!!Thank god for the internet!! I told Bill i am gonna send him a picture everyday of Kaden.. and maybe of his mama too. I dont want him to miss a thing!!!

Okay well now that i am a sobbing fool i will tie this post up. Hopefully I will have awesome news to post tomorrow after my appt.. or maybe I will be too busy to post at all cuz we'll be having a baby.. who knows!!

Tick Tock Tick Tock

Well we have 27 days till estimated due date for little (or should i say BIG) Kaden! Though I'd have to admit that he will prolly be here sooner considering all the contractions, and the fact I am already dialated 3 cm and thinned out almost completely. I have my next ob appt tomorrow.. I am anxious to see if i have dialated any more since last wednesday.. TONS of killer contractions have to have done SOMETHING! Tomorrow is the big 36 week appt, Strep B test.. ewwy! LOL But its good to know the status of that too.. cuz it worries me that I'd go into labor today and i dont know that.. so they still will have to plan for me to have it.. and thats 4 hours of meds that I have to be given.. so i HAVE to have 4 hours to spare!! :)

Today Bill and I are chillin.. seriously.. its sooo cold outside!! We will prolly go for a walk a little bit later. Its good to keep a moving. I want to go to the movies.. considering we are seriously running out of time for that!! Especially if we find out that i have dialated even more and maybe have a baby in the next few days!!

We are anxiously awaiting Kaden Scott... we can't wait to see his cute little face.. look into his big eyes.. and give lots of love and kisses. we've waited soo long for him.. and this next 3 weeks are going to be excrutiating!! :)

Monday, April 26, 2010

Well its been a month since the last blog. We are counting down to D-day with 48 days to go at this point.. 48 days!! I remember when it was 248 days.. thats when we found out we were expecting our little boy.. now we are down to the last little bit. He can actually come anytime now and be very healthy and happy boy! Over the last month I have gotten so much bigger.. and So has Kaden. We had a growth Ultrasound done last week, because of the lack of maternal weight gain.. Well.. Kaden is not stunted at all.. Matter of fact he is 83% on the growth scale. 50% is a normal/average baby... so he is bigger than the average by a good amount. Amazing fact since I haven't gained any weight!! I am actually still down 17 lbs from pre pregnancy. From my lowest weight I am up 12 lbs, pretty much all baby at this point. Kaden weighed 4 lbs 14 oz at the 32 week mark so he's gonna be a biggin! We will start working on getting him out a little early if the doc allows, cuz I really dont want a Csection!! But its up to the doctors. We'll start walking more, and encouraging him to come on his own starting May 1st.. as of may 23 he is FULL TERM, so i figured with 3 weeks to work on ripening things and dialating that we can do this normal and vaginal. I keep having thoughts of my water breaking. I know that only 20% of peoples water breaks on their own with no intervention.. but I wanna be one of those people! :)

Kaden is very active.. Bill and I love just watching my belly dance nightly. He also isnt very nice all the time. But i guess thats all about pregnancy that isnt the fun fun stuff. He is head down, so thats a great sign!!

I had my baby shower a couple weeks ago. Holy smokes was it an affair to remember!! I can't believe the generousity of my friends and family. They have really come through to make this little boy feel like a prince!! Everyone is totally entertaining my Monkey addiction.. SO thank you!!! :) After the shower i spent days cleaning everything, sterilizing and trying to get things ready for Kaden's arrival. I actually managed to get his bag completely packed for the hospital. Mine on the other hand.. not so much!!!

I have to work on Kaden's Bears Quilt. I have everything ready to go.. just need the motivation to do it. Maybe this week. His nursery area is set up and we have diapers and wipes and everything we need for him! Just need the little boy to complete the picture. Well i am gonna include some pictures of the past month. Hopefully this time next month.. we'll have our little boy!!!! We'll see.

Thursday, March 25, 2010

good day! Well its been a couple months since i have posted. Kaden is cooking along very well, and he is getting bigger and stronger everyday. Gosh knows, since he's kicking me like crazy.

Last night Daddy and I went to a newborn baby care class. I have no experience with the first bit of babying ... so i thought it would be good. Plus daddy will only be here for 6 weeks or so, so i want him to feel comfortable with his little boy before he leaves for the desert.

I am currently 29 weeks.. 203 lbs.. not gaining alot. Which is cause for another ultrasound in 3 weeks! hey, i will take any chance to see my little one again before he's here. I am having a decent amount of braxtons. They dont really hurt, just uncomfortable. But no dialating yet! which is great!

Babyshower is on 2 weeks.. i can't wait. I have always been the one throwing these things and now i get to go to my own. Thanks to Linda, i am sure it will be a great time. Cant wait to see everyone!!!

Well, we are on every 2 week appts now. YEPPIE! Time is flying by so fast.. too fast!!! On a down side.. Bill is having trouble again with the PT test and its causing lots of stress in his life and well ours in general. In 80 days, he will retest.. just about when Kaden is here!! and if he doesnt test well.. which he should.. since he improved SOOO much last month. But if he doesnt pass then we'll be getting out of the military. At 18 years in, it will be very hard to just say goodbye to it. But if it comes down to that, we have plans to get back on our feet.. even with another member of the family. We'll make it no matter what. But right now we'll focus on Bill keeping improving.. and it will be great to have him pass and be good for 6 months. Next time he tests he'll be in the desert then.. .should be interesting if he doesn't pass there.. then they will have to send him home and kick him out.. lol.. only time will tell how this will go.

Well thats the update. I will post new pics of Kaden after next U/S! and pics from the baby shower when it happens!

the past month

Well, This month has been one of up and downs. We are so elated that Kaden is developing so well and I am finally sustained in my weight. But this month we also lost our dear kitty Salem. After a long battle with diabetes.. he finally left us on Jan 22. I miss him so much and nothing makes it really easier. We had him for 12 1/2 years.. he was my buddy during Bill's first deployment.. and I was hoping he'd be my buddy for Bill's second deployment. But atleast he held on until I got back from IL. Bill did such a good job with him.. keeping him happy and fed. Poor guy.. We love you Salem "Stinky" Andrews.. RIP!!

Then we started taking belly bump pics! Every week now, laying down.. see how big i have gotten. First one 2o 1/2 weeks, 21 1/2 weeks and last 22 1/2 weeks.

Ready for Baby

Though Kaden Scott's arrival is still a while from now.. were bout halfway there!.. we have gotten his crib all ready for him! We love animals and went with a jungle theme. Mommy and Daddy worked hard to get the crib together, and its sturdy!! :) I think today we finally realized that little Kaden is on his way. Now we gotta get the cradle clean, sanded and painted. Thats the next big project.

On an up note.. i know how to make Kaden active as a little monkey in my belly.. eat sugar!! he loves it and gets super busy after I eat. Its really cool, but sometimes he goes on and on.. and all i want is to not have to pee!! :)

Love this little guy.. i can't wait till he comes.. though I'd love for him to stay in there a little longer to get healthier. 19 weeks isnt good!!

Next week we have the anatomy scan.. can't wait to hear the doc say that everything is as it should be! With my weight loss, I do worry much about it!

Thursday, January 14, 2010

whoo hoo.. today was very exciting.. well this whole week has been exciting. After a week away with Meka to IL.. we got home early Monday Morning. Then Wednesday was my 1 year surgiversary.. what a milestone.. 155 lbs down.. size 14... and 4.5 months pregnant... wow!! We also found out that Bill is deploying in August to Qutar for 6 months. Sucks but this is a fairly safe location for him to go to.. and that

makes me happy. He'll miss the first few months of the babies life.. but luckily we can do it now vs when the kiddo is older. Most important thing.. he'll be here when the baby is born. Then today.. we found out that Wilbert.. is no longer being called Wilbert. Come June 13th.. we'll have Kaden Scott Andrews gracing our lives. Yes.. a little boy. Bill is so happy.. and so am I. We both know it didnt matter what the sex was.. but it only mattered that the baby was healthy and happy. Today we saw that he is moving around alot.. great size... is a cuddly little booger when he wants to be.. and all in all.. looks good!! We'll have the anatomy scan on the 25th of the month... which will be the one with all the measurements and such. So it is awesome how things are going.. We are SOOO blessed... We love this little boy soo much its incredible!! :)
